Picador Plc will be helping to spread some Christmas cheer when they team up with local radio station, Wave 105 to aid their Mission Christmas campaign.
Mission Christmas which is part of Wave 105's Cash for Kids charity helps local children who are living in poverty. In the south there are currently over 88,000 vunerable children and local people are being asked to buy an extra present that can be given to a disavantaged child to make their Christmas morning special.
Picador have come to the aid of Wave 105 by providing a van for the team to use to help facilitate the logistics of this massive campaign. Picador Plc CEO Graham Jacobs commented, "When Wave approached us to see if we could help with their charity event I was only too delighted to help. The Mission Christmas campaign is such a fantastic cause that helps disadvantaged children in our area. If assisting with the use of a van can help bring a smile to even one child on Christmas Day then it is worthwhile in my eyes!".
On taking delivery of the Renault Trafic from Picador, Samantha Tanner, Charity Manager - Wave 105 Cash for Kids commented, "Thank you so much to Picador for loaning us a van to help out with our Mission Christmas Appeal. Without the generosity of local companies such as Picador, we would not have the means to collect and distribute as many presents as we do. All presented donated, collected and sorted are given to children who live in poverty in the South. Thank you Picador!".
